SINGAPORE: Asia’s grandest street parade, Chingay, will be celebrated next year with the aim of involving 70,000 people. That is double this year's turnout. The parade on February 7 and 8 at the F1 Pit building will feature fabric art in the form of batik painting and knitting tapestries.
Chingay’s organiser, the People's Association, said residents will produce 1500 pieces of knitted tapestries and 360-metre batik art for the parade. This will provide them with opportunities to engage in programmes leading up to the event.
We are looking for aspiring photographers who are specialised in low light photography to join us into our 4th year of capturing the essence of this amazing festival as an official Chingay photographer. Details to apply will be sent via SMS and if you are interested to receive updates on this event, please SMS “SUB YOURNAME” without quotes to 83187481 and replace YOURNAME with your real name. (Eg: SUB JUSTIN NG)
