Dear All,
I need your suggestions. I'm joining Academy Fantasia Contest as event photographer (This is how Nikon label for this event) on next Saturday. They have stated that NO FLASH usage during rehearsals and actual shows.
I'm thinking of renting extra gears but, I have problems choosing lens. I have never been to St James Power Station and have no idea how big is the Dragonfly Bar. I did google and seems to be long hall room. I don't know how close I can go to contestants either.
I'll bring my own gears as follow:
D5100
Nikkor 50mm 1.8G (It will be fixed on my D5100)
Nikkor 18-55mm (Just in case)
I'm thinking of renting as follow:
D7000 or D90
Nikkor 70-200mm or 24-70mm (I don't know how big is the hall.) Crazy, right? Yeah, D700 rental cost $138And, I want f2.8 but, DX version only have 17-55mm.
Speedlight SB700 (Cuz I only have Nissin Flash and T&C says only Nikon equipments allowed) Renting SB700 just for outdoor shoot if I have chance.
Any other thing? Should I give a visit to bar before the event? I have never shoot such kind of singing contest indoor one before.
All advises are welcome. Thanks.
