This O-Flash is a circular ring adapter that turns the light from your hot shoe flash into around the lens circle ring light. Producing a circular ring light, it is great for eliminating shadows. With the light position being wrapped around the lens, it is especially useful for portrait, macro and close up photography.
How the O-Flash works:
The speed light connects to the ring light which really just redirects the light through the circular ring and using a system of internal prisms, reflectors and light-shapes the light distributes through the ring flash without using any electronics or additional power.
Some other examples:
Shot taken with Flash TTL switched on and bounced on the ceiling. (Do note the uneven shadows across the face especially at bottom of the nose and eye-brows. The background is not well-lit up.)
Shot taken with the O-flash attached to the external flash. The lighting on the face ismore evenly distributed with a catch light appearing in the eyes. The background is also well-lit too.
Installation is simple - simply tighten the adjustable Velcro mount around your flash head and mount it into your flash.
The O-flash RF-170 adapter fits well on the 580EX/ 580EXII with Canon 5D/5D mk2/60D/40D/30D/20/10D and SB800 with Nikon D1/D2/D3/D700.
