This is a discussion on Shock n' awe ::: within the Streets and Candids forums, part of the Photo Galleries category; Hi I just want to share my view on the street photography.. feel free to give your comments and critics ...
What strikes me when the image opens up is the girl's expression and her approving look towards her mother.
I would have die for a shot like this. But as my eyes wander into the scene, the vignette on the right is
too obvious. If the intend is to focus attention on the girl and mother, you might want to consider a tighter crop.
But I think the plastic bag on the ground and the people behind the barricade add to a stronger image.
Thanks!! Bcool for that comment, I guess I was just trying to lead the eye of the viewer directly to the girls expression hence creating a noticeable vignette created by burning..
During the shot when it was taken it was a speed shooting as it was my first time to see this beautiful gathering in Singapore. I was too busy, not considering my composition that I could have taken a better angle avoiding to do a overdone vignetting.. but any way, I deeply appreciate your comment.. Thanks again.. maybe next year during this event I must consider those things then..
