Occupation:
IT Analyst
Biography:
My name is Peng Siong, some called me GPS and I have come a long way before digital photography was readily available to the masses. Photography is an old passion that reappeared few years ago for me. My photography experience started in my Ngee Ann Polytechnic days in the 1980s, when I laid hands on a Minolta Dynax 300i.

In 2004, with my first Digital SLR, Nikon D100, I took up studio and outdoor portraiture courses from the SAFRA Photographic Club, and was the BEST student for the outdoor portraiture course. I was co-opted into the SAFRA Photo Club committee in 2004, and currently serves as the vice chairman of the club, on top of being in charge of the club's website.

Over the past few years, I have gained great experiences in different genres of photography such as Events, Pre-Wedding, Actual Day Wedding, Studio Portraiture, Outdoor Portraiture, Performing dance, Landscape, Street Photography, Motor Sports, Ball games, and much more.

To keep up the passion for photography, in 2006, I took up an instructor role of the Basic Digital Photography Course at the SAFRA Photographic Club. With the help of my mentor, Victor Chick, I had taken more than 28 batches of students. And while I has already got my hands full, I manage to find time to coach aspiring photographers in Sony’s Digital Workshop, “Fundamental Handling of Cybershot”, “Fundamental Handling of DSLR” and “Fundamental Handling of NEX” courses.

On top of coaching in Sony Digital Workshop, I run regular photography related workshops and courses for Automobile Association of Singapore, Red Dot Photo, Singapore Color Photographic Society as well as Army units.

Peng Siong also believes in returning to the society. I am actively involved in volunteering my photography services for Renci, Major Temple, Children Cancer Foundation. By invitation, I am helping out in the New Media Team of Toa Payoh East, as a guiding mentor.
