    Canon Macro 100mm L vs 180mm L

Hi, can anyone feedback on the difference between these 2 lens beside the cost obviously.

    1) Performance in sharpness, autofocus, quality
    2) the focal length difference for macro shoot.. eg. using 100mm does it mean that we have to get so close to the insect and it will scare them away mostly before any shot can be taken?
    3) both are 1:1 magnification and for 180mm it will still be the same of image size of the subject as compared to 100mm, only that 180mm allows further distance away? Am I correct to say that?

    Thanks

    hi.

    1) I've never use canon macro lens before, but from my friends pictures of the 100mm it doesn't seems tt bad.
    2) Though minimum focus do plays a part of how close u are to ur subjects, but it is how you approach the insect that matter most.
I've seen ppl using extension tube + raynox + macro lens and the are able to approach a fly without startling the fly
    3) Yes u are correct.
