DAY 2 City tour / Mari-Mari Cultural Village / Kundasang

Breakfast at hotel. 0900hrs proceed for a City Tour. Tour commences with a drive to signal Hill for a birdıs eye view of Kota Kinabalu, We will make a photo stop at the Wisma Tun Mustapha (formerly known as Sabah Foundation Building) which was built in 1977. It is a magnificent building with 30-storey tower block, and is one of the few buildings in the world that utilize a single column structure. Other scenic places to visit include the Atkinson Clock Tower, the State Mosque with itıs gold inlaid onion dome, the largest dome of itıs type in Malaysia, and the State Museum been built in 1985.

The museum has a collection on history of Sabah, an exhibitions galleries, and models of traditional houses representing the many ethnic communities of Sabah. Other visits include the Chinese Buddhist Temple with a huge statue of Kuan Yin and finally the handcraft center for souvenir to bring home. Then, 1400hrs depart to Mari-mari cultural village.

As you traverse the Village, you will find demonstration huts along the tribe houses in which daily activities of old times come into life. For example, the making of blowpipe, starting a fire (from Bamboo tree - you will learn the steps of making fire without the help of a lighter), tattoo-making (and its symbolisms) and so on. After lunch, proceed to Kundasang for check in at the resort. Steamboat dinner at the resort.

Day 3 Mesilau / Desa Farm / Poring / Durian Plantation


Breakfast at resort. Proceed to Kinabalu Park Headquarters on a 2 hours drive. The park is known for its diverse range of flora and fauna and the majestic Mount Kinabalu. The local KadazanDusun named it as Aki Nabalu or ³Revered Place of the Death². It is believed that the Spirits of the tribes dead ancestors dwell among the forbidden peaks.
On the way, we will make a stop at the local market of Pekan Nabalu. At the park, the Mountain Garden guided walk provides an informative overview of the Kinabalu Park. Thegarden is landscaped with most of the flora species found in the area such as wild orchids and begonias. Other highlight for this tour includes guided walk, nature trails, mountain garden talk, and interpretative displays.
After lunch, we proceed on to the Poring Hot Spring. The Canopy Walkway, hanging as high as 60 meters above the ground is a trail that one should not miss. After the exhilarating walk, take a dip in the open-air sulphur bath.You have the option to explore the Kepungit Waterfall with nice refreshing pond for swimming before returning to the resort.

DAY 4 SUNDAY MARKET / CITY SIGHTSEING / AIRPORT

Breakfast at resort. Then, depart for Sunday Market (Pasar Tamu) at the Gaya Street. City Sightseeing and shopping for local produce before departure for flight home.

About Thru’The Singaporean Lens
The initiative is to allow Singaporean shooters to explore and document their travels around the Malaysian states, cities and towns. The organised trips would bring Singaporeans around both East and West Malaysia and document the people’s lives through Travel/Street photography.
